This creamy parmesan chicken is an easy one-pan dinner made with tender chicken breasts and a rich garlic parmesan cream sauce. It’s cozy, flavorful, and ready in about 30 minutes.
Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder on both sides. If the chicken breasts are large, slice them in half horizontally.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5 to 6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Transfer to a plate.
Lower the heat and sprinkle the flour into the skillet. Stir, then add the garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
Slowly pour in the chicken broth while stirring, then add the heavy cream. Stir until the sauce becomes smooth.
Add thyme, basil, onion powder, black pepper. Let the sauce gently simmer.
Add the parmesan cheese and stir until fully melted and creamy.
Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top. Let it warm through for a few minutes.
Finish with parsley and extra parmesan if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
Slice large chicken breasts for even cooking
Use freshly grated parmesan for best texture
Add a splash of broth or water if sauce gets too thick
